Regis Jesuit’s lacrosse team has high expectations coming off of last years state championship win. Regis Jesuit beat rival Kent Denver 11-10 in the championship game on Dicks Sporting Goods Field.
The number-one seeded Raiders easily defeated Chaparral. RJ will play Arapahoe in the semi-finals on Wednesday, May 18th. Arapahoe will present a challenge to the Raiders, but, based on their season so far, it looks like the team may nab the State Title.
On August 10, 2010, Regis Jesuit Senior Long Stick Middie, Connor Knobloch committed to play Division 1 Lacrosse at Virginia Military Institute.
It is January at Regis Jesuit and seniors Tanner Ottenbreit and Rhody Heller are preparing for the 2011 Lacrosse season. Coming off a loss in the football state championship, Tanner will rebound by trying to win his third hockey state championship and his first lacrosse state championship.
Spring sports at Regis Jesuit High School are looking to be just as dominant this year, as they have been in previous years.
After a visit to the State Championship game last year, Lacrosse is looking to have another go at state this year with new captains; seniors, Rhody Heller, Tanner Ottenbreit, Sean Fay, and Kevin Wylie.
Regis Jesuit seniors, Kevin Wylie and Derek Ball, have been staple members of the Regis Jesuit lacrosse program for multiple years. Derek, a three-year varsity player, and Kevin, a four year varsity player and varsity captain, have shown tremendous talent on the lacrosse field throughout their tenure at Regis Jesuit.
Last month, in the “Raider Review”, Hank Winterscheidt wrote a well-written article about the “lax bro” mentality. Although it meant no harm, it raised multiple questions regarding the goal and the attitude of the 2011 Regis Jesuit Lacrosse Program. We sat down with Head Defensive Coach, Dr. Herman
